Sunday, July 16:

Psychodrama & sociometry are the source of all modern role-playing methods. Their fundamental goal is to awaken and enhance spontaneous creative presence in individuals & groups – psychodrama through investigating relationships among the many parts of Self; sociometry through investigating relationships with others & group dynamics.

In this retreat you will have an opportunity to refresh previous connections. and discover new ones; practice a variety of ways of giving and receiving support; become more aware of those parts of yourself which encourage this process and those parts which impede it; and explore ways to maximize the former and reduce the latter.

Herb Propper, Ph.D., T.E.P. is a nationally certified Trainer Educationer & Pratitioner of psychodrama, sociometry & group psychotherapy. He is also JamYang PhünTsok, Tibetan Buddhist monk resident at Kagyu Thubten Choling monastery in Wappingers Falls, NY.

He is a Fellow of the American Society of Psychodrama and Group Psychotherapy, lead trainer for the Indian Institute of Psychodrama in Chennai, India, and the Bangladesh Psychodrama Practice Group. He is also Professor Emeritus of Theater at Johnson (VT) State College, a 2009 Fulbright Scholar to Bangladesh, and a current member of the Fulbright Specialist Roster in clinical social work.

He has been a student of Lama Norlha Rinpoche for the past 17 years and part of the Dharma Path Program for lay practitioners since 2006. He has taught college courses in Buddhism and Buddhist meditation, and currently leads the weekly Open Medtation class at Kagyu Thubten Chöling monastery.

meeting on Sunday, March 26, at 2:00 PM

Members and friends are invited to join the LSLK board @ the center at 2PM on Sunday March 26th to discuss an opportunity to move to a larger location. Among other considerations, we will discuss how ownership in the building might strengthen our ability to continue offering space in Knoxville for the beautiful practices and gatherings that make up our sangha, as well as leverage LSLK’s resources in support of other opportunities for contemplative practice and arts in the city.

Please message me (Traci Black: traciwrightblack@gmail.com) if there are questions you would like addressed before the meeting and I’ll do my best to answer as specifics continue to come into place.
