Each Sunday at 6:30 PM we are adding a weekly 1000 Armed Chenrezig practice
This is a bodhicitta, or heart-opening practice to develop the compassionate wish that all beings be alleviated from suffering.
The sessions will last about an hour and are open to all.
Each Sunday, Taylor Quilty will be leading a weekly Tonglen practice at 6 PM. The sessions will last about an hour and are open to all.
For those not familiar with Tonglen
Pema Chodron says :
“Tonglen practice, also known as ‘taking and sending,’ reverses our usual logic of avoiding suffering and seeking pleasure. In tonglen practice, we visualize taking in the pain of others with every in-breath and sending out whatever will benefit them on the out-breath. In the process, we become liberated from age-old patterns of selfishness. We begin to feel love for both ourselves and others; we begin to take care of ourselves and others.”
Taylor says :
“I will borrow from metta meditations I have done in the past. Being present with one’s own suffering and sending light, then to a loved one, acquaintance, enemy, and finally all beings.”
